2023, what a year it's been!
It's been a quiet one for sharing new things I've been working on, but it's typically those times that I'm most cooking up exciting things behind the scenes. 2023 is no exception.
The biggest story of my year is that I've spent most of it background supervising on an incredible show you'll get to see in 2024. I'm so proud and happy with how it's all coming together and it's been a dream job to work on. The backgrounds are all looking incredible thanks to the incredible team I had.
The only reason I'm itching for the job to end is to finally reach that moment of feeling like I've completed a goal I've been working towards for years as it’s definitely the project that’ll be the highlight of my career so far.
Other exciting things I've worked on in 2023 include illustrations for two more board games. One's for a very big and exciting IP and I got to go all out with it’s location illustrations.
I can't wait until I can show you all these things in 2024!
Back in January, Koala Man, which I background supervised on back in 2021/2022 was released!
Two Helluva Boss episodes I worked on, S1 Episode 8 and S2 Episode 5 also came out this year. I got to do both layout and paint for some very fun backgrounds, including the key design of the opening background in S2E5.

2023 is definitely going down in the history books as a super positive year for me. 2022 wasn’t great, it was a year that was quite tough on my mental health, leaving me feeling burned out. I started the year coming out of a low point, knew I needed to manage my energy and priorities wisely, stuck to the plan, was quite fortunate this year at times, worked hard when it mattered most and turned it all around to finish the year on a high. I can’t ask for any more than that!
I also started running this year and completed my new years resolution to run a half marathon. I enjoyed running much more than I thought I would, and the benefits it’s had on both my mood and my mental focus is a game changer! I’m definitely planning to run even more in 2024, and start training for a full marathon.

Another thing to look forward to in the new year is Hazbin Hotel’s release! A shot with a background I did the layout for even made it into the trailer.
Something else I hope to do next year is to do a little more with the background art discord too.
I’m excited to dive into 2024 feeling like I’m going into it with more momentum than ever!
