-It's an animation you're working on independently (that you plan on putting in NG of course)

-You've got previous animations on Newgrounds that are front-page quality

-You don't mind if the backgrounds are non exclusive (I might put them into a background bundle that other people could use or make tutorials out of them or whatever else)

So, If you have a project in the works or you are starting one soon and you think I might be able to help you, let me know!

The highlight of my 2016 definitely was working on The Tale Teller with Jazza. Attening a live screening/launch party for something I'd worked on was a pretty memorabe moment. It's sitting right now at #1 on the portal, which feels kind of surreal since when I joined Newgrounds, looking at the stuff on the top of all time list was a huge source of inspiration and something I could really only dream of.

I uploaded a time lapse video today showing how I made the background in the opening shot. Check it out!

2017 is almost here! Next year I hope to collaborate with more animators and work on more cool things! I especially hope the summer jams is a thing that happens again!

There's no restrictions on how you can use these backgrounds, the only catch is that they may not be exclusive. I might put them up for download for others to use, or create time lapse videos or streams of me making them etc.

If you're a programmer with some experience, who needs an artist to work with perhaps we should team up.

Ortus will be released under our new name sometime this year. Jazza updated the kickstarter blog with a report on what the Ortus team are busy working on at the moment. I'm currently creating castles for various cities in Ortus.

also thanks for how well Comet has been received on NG, I'm thrilled at earning my first daily and weekly first, and even monthly 2nd!

I finally released Comet a day ago, the animation project I've had in the works for a long time now.

I originally intended to release Comet last Christmas, but it ended up not being possible. I wanted to make it as high quality visually as I possibly could, and I suprised myself with the backgrounds I made. My character design and animation skills aren't as good though, and it was bringing the the whole animation down and causing a lot of frustration. I'm lucky and thankful that Jazza ended up offering to help out, once again making the project I had in mind possible.

When I was madly making the final edits to Comet 30 minutes before the release, I found out that someone had posted our Ortus kickstarter, whch at the time was short $5,000 to reddit and the post was at the top of the gaming category. This ended up made all the difference in making the Kickstarter successful. I'm so happy right now, the last two days has been a huge emotional payoff for the all the patient months of work.

Anyway I'm excited for next year, Bigger and better projects are coming!

If you didn't already know, over the last year I've been working with Jazza, Moonkey and a bunch of other fantastic people on a huuuuuge RPG called Ortus. Because it is so large the development time has become a financial strain on the team. We'd like to crowdfund through kickstarter so we can finish the game much more quickly and smoothly and spend more energy on polishing during testing.

We're offering some nice rewards in exchange for supporting us. A $10+ pledge will let you join the earliest beta testing and for $50 you can name and design your own NPC character. The $300 pledge reward is pretty sweet (I wish we could do this cheaper, but its creating a fair bit of work for us) as you get to design a custom enemy creature and a custom NPC that gives out a quest chain with their own custom designed house.

At the start of December I'm going to drive from Adelaide over to Melbourne to hang out with Jazza for a week or more. It should be productive, as we'll work face to face, crunching on a bunch of projects. One of them is a music video I've had in the works for a while now, currently titled "Comet". The plan was to have it done by last Christmas, but my character skills are no where up to the standards of my background art, which was a huge roadblock. With Jazza helping out, a release this Christmas is much more attainable.
