2019 Goals Challenge

Posted by zeedox - December 26th, 2018

I recently joined in this fun artist resolution challnge on Instagram after a friend tagged me in it. It got me thinking about all the sorts of things I want to work on next year:

Various goals for 2019

On the topic of instagram, I've been sharing recent art as well as updates on big secret projects I'm busy on. I only started using Instagram this year so I don't have anywhere close to the followers I do on NG or twitter, why not check out some of my recent posts?

That's a pretty ambitious set of goals, especially the every day one! Studies or no. Everyday. That's a lot of days! Good luck!!!

Also especially liking #7 there.

The daily study one might actually be the easiest, it'll be the third year I've kept it going so it's a habit at this point.

Yeah #7 is definitely my favourite!

Mine would be, "at least draw something."

Do a quick easy doodle in January. Then from there you've already won but why not keep going with more and more slightly better pieces!

Woah, impressive grind! Never any trouble, really? You don't ever feel like taking a break, get sick, get other things in the way?

On a bad/busy or sick day I've half assed the studies and spent less than a minute or two on them. I don't want to open the door for making any excuses to myself to not even try.

Goal #4... How's are things? FRIEND!?! Oh and good goals there, I feel the same way about #6

Hello FRIEND! Things are excellent!

Ah, well a couple minutes are better than no minutes. So even that little's enough huh. Do you do anything with all these studies btw? Keep an art journal or thread or something?

I've posted compilations before of a few of the best studies, but I don't plan on sharing most of them. I think if I shared them I'd, even on a subconscious level, be more afraid to take risks and experiment or I'd waste time on details or shading that make them look nice but isn't teaching me much.

'goal #11 be great" sh** thats finished i see why you took it of

Well that makes sense. :) Something for when you're rich and famous maybe? A deep dive into the mind of this one artist. The never seen before behind the scenes!
